I'm just barely self aware to understand that my morals are uncomfortably ambiguous and I haven't made enough progress in my personal life to name myself proud, despite the protestations of several friends to the contrary.

I said “no,” because I am not yet virtuous. I have a gigantic amount of growing to do before I could feel comfortable calking myself broadly “good.” I’d say I am polite and considerate, which many people think means “good,” but actually means more like “enlightened compliance.”

"Deep down" means nothing. Being a good person is materialized by actions only. It's a relationship with others, not an inner feeling. You can feel like a good person "deep down" and still be factually and objectively an asshole.
