Did your parents ever punish you by presenting two choices of punishments and telling you you had a choice of which punishment to get, and then after you picked, they gave you the one you *didn't* pick? And sometimes would play it straight so you couldn't reverse engineer it

That is psychological abuse. If you are cornered and they give you a way out but choose the other. That is child abuse.
Tho I have dumb stuff in my childhood my parents never did that to me. They just locked me down. I was also a free range child.

no but often my punishment was that i couldn't explain/justify my actions even if i had good reasons
