Still, it would be interesting to gather more samples from the right side of the political spectrum. Having a balanced dataset (if possible) is always better.
could it be because people on the left are considered on average to be "weird" (socially), and we have a habit of prescribing mental illnesses to people who we think are "weird."

I think you might have misunderstood my quest, I was clarifying if the sample-size of econ/social left and right was similar, as the conclusions derived would vary. If the size diff is significant, Right wouldn't have a bearing in this analysis unless the size var. is controlled
