i had no idea learning programming was such an emotional experience. like half of the process is managing rapidly alternating between feeling like im the lord almighty here to graciously gift my genius to mankind, and wanting to pour my coffee into my keyboard and die

Wanna know the fun part? It never gets better. You always just swing wildly between these two feelings, without warning, until you swear off computers entirely and go live in a cave on the beach

He's joking, it really does get better for most of us. About 1/3 things start to click in weeks to months, really click - have a set of ahas. 1/3 get better gradually over a couple three years. 1/3 will struggle and just go thought the motions to some sort of productivity.

Well maybe, it depends on your resilience. Maybe you just become jaded and cynical. Over time your comfort with a set of tools can be quite good, but then tech changes and that tool chain is obsolete.
