This thread is very sad, about how a woman was murdered for referring to Islam as "nonsense." I was a lil skeptical, like that seems extreme, but the replies to this particular tweet focus a lot on shaming her or saying she deserved it, which makes this all more plausible

(To be clear I absolutely believe people get murdered for insulting Islam, just I assume total base rates in lower-profile situations where people are acclimated to cultures where they know the dangers, are low)

Aella thank you for retweeting this. This is what we face in the Northman part of Nigeria. Blasphemy and still yet the government can’t do anything about it

The very fact that you are posting this, you will be called islamophobic by many. Btw this is way more common in lower income countries with Islamic populations

It's not only very, *very* common in Islam, but it's also very supported. The penalty for both blasphemy apostacy is death.
It's exactly why the Charlie Hebo murders, and countless others like it happened. NB Some of those data sets are ~10 years old.

Those who know that their case is pathetically weak also know that persuasion won't convert anyone, so they resort to threats and violence. Infantile.
