it's distressing how many ppl out there have super high friendship potential with me but neither of us know it. I have a good sense of romantic selection, but no idea how to do two way large-scale-filtering friendship selection. Probably "do u live nearby" is biggest factor.

Yep, any deep thoughts like this about missed opportunities due to failed discovery, are devastating.
Imagine if AI agents could negotiate that process of discovery, how much better and more productive might our lives be?

At first it might be annoying for your personal AI to suggest/demand you talk to the person facing you on the train, but after a few successes you'll likely start taking almost all its advice.

i really have no idea why "tinder, but for friends" doesn't exist - everyone complains about how hard it is to make friends as an adult, so it's clearly a big untapped market, but nobody is addressing is successfully

What are the main differences in your criteria for the two (apart from the obvious)?

I feel this way too, except it’s more of an “I’m pretty sure we do” feeling. I call it the “trust me bro” dynamic.

Till it is Large Scale it is Fake and this the distress. We are not supposed to keep 1000 friends. You having any quality is of use to the person who needs that quality.
Potential should be used for self satisfaction not for Ego wins
