dangerous bc it implies humans aren't fundamentally special?
Maybe evidence for not dangerous is humans tried to hold the belief "we aren't animals, animals and humans are fundamentally different" for most of our history but recently accepted it and it changed almost nothing
oh no, i don't think humans are fundamentally special; i mean it's dangerous in that i think it's already very easy for people to project things about themselves into the world; being like 'it's not my brain, im just reading true energy' gives a lot of leeway for destruction
If the brain is simple, but its interaction with the environment is complex, does it place the locus of control outside the brain? May be not. Computers, simple machines that create magic, were for a long time thought be be good only for "numbers".
The belief that "the brain is too complex to be understood" does seem analogous to the belief that "humans are too special to be animals". Our brains may be simple computers rendering the world around us as complex ever changing VR, perhaps mostly for our own "entertainment".
