My guess is the brain turns out to be simpler than we expect and most of the magic is in the fabric of reality (various fields, etc)

dangerous bc it implies humans aren't fundamentally special? Maybe evidence for not dangerous is humans tried to hold the belief "we aren't animals, animals and humans are fundamentally different" for most of our history but recently accepted it and it changed almost nothing

oh no, i don't think humans are fundamentally special; i mean it's dangerous in that i think it's already very easy for people to project things about themselves into the world; being like 'it's not my brain, im just reading true energy' gives a lot of leeway for destruction

This registers to me as a proposition that is fundamentally almost impossible to test. How could we possibly hope to measure a field that only interacts with a specific kinds of cells that are in a specific state of consciousness? Only another brain could be the antenna.
