When/if you have kids, did you/do you plan to tell them Santa exists?

this is honestly such a hard choice, I think I’ll do no but explain why they might want to pretend it’s real to their friends

yeah this is what my parents did, they said no santa's not real but you might meet some kids who think santa's real and you're not supposed to tell them otherwise
(i only met a few other kids who believed in santa and yes i debated them about it)

When I learned Santa didn’t exist my next question was “what about god?”
They assured me that was different lol
I’m honest with my own

I would not use the phrase "Santa exists", certainly not. But I don't think not using that specific phrase or eg "Santa is a real person" necessarily precludes discussing Santa at all

Would I feel the need to emphasise/stress that he does NOT exist? Possibly not, even though I wouldn't represent that he does exist

Step 1. Santa is real. Step 2. Dress up as Santa. Step 3. I am Santa. Step 4. Not Santa for all kids, just for you (my) kids. Step 5. Kids get the gifts and the gist and learn how to properly unravel the worlds biggest conspiracy

Im curious. Will you tell your children that Santa is real? Why or why not?
Ive always been pro santa and I am so surprised by the poll results. Seems to me like a bunch of rationalists w/o kids answered.
I want to know what rationalists w/ kids think

i dont want to lie to them directly but i do want to let them have fun
this is somewhat related to how i plan to approach religion
i dont think i need to give them answers here, just let them live in the world and sort it out themselves
