Lots of people dragging on me for deciding to jump into a big python project instead of learning slow basics from a book or school or something. Sure, maybe that works better for you, but if I take that option I will *never learn python* 1/

I cannot learn mathematics unless I learn continuity and calculus and then Hilbert's hotel. My dear friend, you are merely making a spectacle of yourself and nothing else. You need to learn basics, understand simple stuff like array etc, learn to operate on them, then proceed.

Alternatively, you can start learning how to work on cars by changing your oil or doing a full engine swap. Aella, you chose the latter. Definitely harder, but you're gonna learn a lot. Sure, you'll look back on this code years from and laugh at how bad it is, but we all do that.

I totally understand wanting to apply what you are learning straight away. I am the same. But you are going to miss some basic stuff that will make life much easier in the long run. I would suggest that you do both, a course and free learning through experimentation.

Glad you wrote this follow up, because the original thread came across as a rant about supposed failings in the programming/python community. I’m glad you’re having fun but boy it sure didn’t sound like it! Good luck!
