personally I have found by far the least "oh fuck everything is broken and what the hell is this package dependency" suffering from the following approach:

(1) go to docs.anaconda.com/anaconda/navig, install the thing
(2) click "launch" on the jupyter notebook option
(3) just write code and it works, "import pandas" just operates fine right out of the box

okay i am in the jupyter notebook anaconda3 black box, and it auto loaded some text, and i cannot type anything into it

when I open urls like that I see something like this in my web browser

On my computer, holding down shift and enter at the same time while my cursor is in typing mode inside the cell works - just checking that doesn't do things for you?
