Same; twitter polls have given me an intuitive sense for the likelihood of results changing as the total votes increases. It never gets too close to zero, because occasionally things get retweeted into different spheres!

I used to wonder how polls that surveyed less than a percent of a population could claim to represent the views of the whole population. Running twitter polls has helped me understand. It’s amazing how well the first 300 votes predict the results after 20,000 votes.

Just to be clear though, Twitter polls are not an accurate representation of the general population. They are just a representation of the population that is exposed to the poll (your followers and to a lesser extent their followers).
