there's so many nonobvious social norms! If someone asks u to meet for coffee, how long does coffee last? should you make 'leaving' moves after 30 minutes? four hrs? when someone asks to buy you a drink at a bar, this means they want to talk to you - nobody tells you this stuff!

i figured out the bar drink thing after i happily approached my friends at a bar with a drink and was like 'look what a nice stranger got for me' and they were like 'and you just left him?' and i was like '....yes? why?'

most of my social groups for years have been rationalists; since i've moved cities i've been branching out into new friends and it's lovely but i'm having lots of 'wtf are the norms, i cant even ask about them cause ppl dont recognize them as norms'

dude i knowww being around rats is like being able to deeply relax im hoping that after i get more used to the non-rats and learn all the rules that it'll be way less conscious effort to follow them and feel more chill

i think the abstract form of the rails is better tbh, like i really really like maps of rail systems from the sky, way more than i like the physical trains themselves. i think my ideal fantasy would be garbage trucks on a train rail system

I only went on a train for the first time this year, and finally understood the autistic appeal- The dining car! Cafe car! Viewing car! The seats and the bathrooms and the doors! The little tickets that get placed above the seats! It’s a nice structured place, y’know?
