If ppl actually took covid risk seriously, they'd have been advocating for better masks on airplanes; cloth masks do very little. When I was avoiding getting covid I just behaved as though others were maskless, and wore a full respirator on planes. Do that, it's within ur power!

Friends of ours tried wearing P100s on planes, with surgical masks covering the outvalves, and were forced to take them off and put crappy masks on instead. At least one got COVID this way. Ironically, the mask mandate ending means we can finally wear real masks.

That's shitty. They let me wear my p100s and gave me trouble sometimes, but ultimately let me on if I used surgical masks in addition. It sounds like your friends got terrible luck

If this were the Black Death w/ 33% death rate nobody would be riding airplanes at all. Yes it was a dangerous disease but how seriously it was taken (namely, somewhat) ultimately does correspond with what it actually is.

Yeah, if you had serious masks they made you change into a shitty one because rules changed all the time.

Yeah cool, if you want to wear a full respirator I'm not stopping you nor is anyone else, but as soon as you force others to then you're crossing the line.

That’s what I did: I acted as if everyone around me tested COVID+. Made me always careful. Still didn’t test positive without avoiding seeing a single person.
