From a conversation today with someone who homeschools their child (with help from paid tutors):
“His teacher thinks he'll pass the GED by age 12 and be done. I think possibly sooner.”
And now the child is likely emotionally stunted and alternative paths probably would have achieved more engagement and better facilitated holistic growth.
don't think so. most of public school time is wasted; if u have one on one training it can vastly accelerate learning even if u spend the exact same amount of hours learning
Yes, however there are alternative learning paths to public school that don't involve GED at 12. I could have done it myself if I so desired, however instead went into gifted programs that were much better for education and social skills. I've directly seen both outcomes
