I think the point of continuing to document and file police reports is to make it look increasingly reasonable when you finally have to kill them.

I had one person who spent years assisting people getting restraining orders against stalkers (tho not erotomanic) say that they recommended against restraining orders cause police tend to be lax in privacy and she saw police leak addresses to the stalker too many times
