Assume one morning you wake up, finding yourself transported 300 years ago to the nearest bustling town. How long would it take before you accepted that you had traveled through time, vs. some reality show prank or psychotic episode theory?

I'm in Australia, so 300 years ago the nearest bustling town would be somewhere in south east Asia. Probably Indonesia. Culture and time shock all rolled into one. I'd be happy to go back 300 years and meet some local indeginous groups though.

Prima facie I thought a couple hours. But you’d think sleepwalking, then kidnapping. Even if you were able to see a newspaper, you’d think you were kidnapped to Luddite-ville. I actually think it would take a long time for you to gain conviction about time travel.

Idk man I would go through so many stages of denial and acceptance of insanity and I would probably get thrown in jail or locked away for hysteria. Not even that confident I wouldn't try killing myself.
