'nooo bad religion is a minority, real religion done with kindness is actually great and flourishing' is an objection that to me sounds like 'noo its like the dark ages but without any plague and war', like uhh idk what you're larping but it's not the actual dark ages

sure the dark ages had some nice things like really dope clothing sometimes and connection with nature and small tribes/family systems and organic food but the systems resulting in that also resulted in a lot of horror

I think you'd be more open-minded if you replaced "religion" with "capitalism" in these sentences and see how it felt. "Capitalism has done great things" "It's created horror and nepotism" "sure but I want it without that" "capitalism has never been without that"
