Sexual selection would have been very different. If, say, women ended up much smarter, they would not have found all dumb (compared to women) men unattractive or uninteresting to spend time with.

If they materially contribute to survival in society & mating at a large enough scale for a long enough period of time, they could be.

In a way, this is even worse. To think that women could have contributed to society much more/differently, but for a long time they didn't even "get a seat at the table" as they say just makes me sad.
