Maybe my lack of Judeo-Christian ethics as a pagan Hindoo is showing, but I don't think we have any obligations to comfort pedophiles as though their lives have any worth. It's not 'very lucky', it's normal. It's common to not be a pedophile. MOST people who ever were, are, or will be have 'cis-heteronormative' sexuality, including an innate disgust at sex with kids (or relatives) If you'd like, I can write out in great detail why you're wrong.

Sure, now imagine a disease that could be possibly induced in people, whose manifestation means preying on vulnerable others (which might also induce it in them) often by concealing the nature of their deranged pathology by giving it a veneer of prosocial or respectable activity.
