my suspicion is that lack of normalization has seriously made things worse. People who were born with sexual attraction to kids have literally zero outlet or method of coping right now except actual kids

I agree this is a strong possibility. Zero tolerance ostracization isn't exactly effective at solving problems. The fact that there are lots of dark web support resources/forums to help people struggling with pedophilic thoughts is a testament to how badly support is needed.

Add to this; America is awful when it comes to nudity. Other countries normalize it. On the opposite, We are desensitized to violence where other countries think it’s worse than nudity. If you see it enough, you get desensitized. Too much desensitization and it becomes normal.

Has it ever ocurred to you that desires can be controlled? There are people who don't give in to all their base desires. They don't need an outlet. They can learn self-denial.

Here's an idea. It shouldnt be normalized. And if someone has the urge, they should take responsibility to not act upon it in any way, or accept the fact that they're predators and should be ostracized from society. Same with rapists, serial killers, or cannibals.
