Assuming a future world where access to hyper realistic sex robots for sexually violent/nonconsenting activities decreases the likelihood of people seeking it out on real humans, would you support efforts that provided these robots to people?

My gripe towards these polls is that people don't need an outlet for the urge, they need to be rid of it. Feeding this addictive habit is bound to have repercussions as it gets harder to be satiated. It is bound to foster inability to connect with partners in sexual scenarios.

That could backfire. Hyper realistic implies they’d have to mimic all the traits those seekers are looking for, including fear and pain. So we’re talking some pretty advanced AI that risks robotic retaliation. A very detroit become human situation.

do you mean public funding or private? I wouldn't stand in the way but I would be more than a little annoyed if my tax dollars were being used to provide a pervert with a plaything.

If the actions are nonconsenting, then that implies the robots are able to give or withhold meaningful consent. If so, they are sentient self-aware beings, and so violation of their consent is just as wrong as it would be for humans.
