Guys r/place is so incredible it makes me want to cry. it's a visual representation of the collective memes of reddit-esque humanity; symbols abound, the larger the symbol the greater a mass of humans who've managed to coordinate behind it. LET ME TAKE YOU ON A JORUNEY 1/

One of my favorites is gamestop; the gamestop ppl made a lil gamestop ad with stonks going up, but the green 'stonks' line goes up... and up and up, interacting with everyone else's work, and everyone's collectively agreed to let the green line thrive

The trans flag has been having a crazy time; it was one of the (many, tbh) flags that had a defacing war, but it's managed to dig out its territory and is now getting covered in the most trans creatures known to man. Some places around it have declared their alliance

The Among Us people have been dedicated and hilarious; after their Among Us section got defaced, they started putting tiny little among us characters inside other people's work. Took a while to notice , but...

The total map size just got doubled (again, it was doubled once yesterday) and in the ensuing mayhem to take over the new whitespace, the collective consciousness screams,

some early-stage dramas taking shape; a green snake slowly moving through r/place, eating everything in its wake; a browser bar at the bottom with pornhub on it, and finally a rebuilding American flag - it's been destroyed and rebuilt so many times by this point

As a general note, it's interesting to me the absence of controversial politics, obscenity, and hate; by and large 'tru controversy' is absent. I haven't seen a single swastika, and I've only seen two penises and one vagina! How can this be when you let the internet loose?

also the obligatory Black Void, a staple of r/place from last time; a cluster of black dots that grow and try to eat everything around it, but keeps moving around the map into less policed areas. It's actually quite small right now!

And one of my favorite things are when two country's flags expand into each other. Flags usually expand in the direction of whatever the stripes are on it, and keep going till there's not enough manpower to protect its own space. When they collide from diff directions it's amazin

also it's common for separate locations to declare truces by drawing a tiny flag or heart at their borders.

The earliest part of the map (upper left quadrant) appears to have the most national flags; the upper right (which is the quadrant that got expanded next) appears to have more gaming stuff. We'll see what the bottom half shapes up to be!

Right now france is being *extremely* ballsy with a second, massive flag, I doubt they'll be able to hold this amount of territory but we'll see!

r/place has ended; shortly before the end, a white void of pixels spread across the map, destroying a ton of stuff in its wake. The memes are touching. i'm not crying you're crying
