Both the pro and anti sides of the trans kids debate are terrible and I don't really trust either of them. Both feel more interested in convincing me to join their side of a war instead of prioritizing nuance and curiosity about a super complex topic.

I tried to have an intellectually honest discussion about the Dave Chappelle controvercy. And with in the first 2 min (less probably) I was told "only a trans person can say what is transphobic" and I was banned from the twitch chat.

Obviously doesnt represent everyones view/ position with in the trans community. But I guess I am just also observing the difficulty of having real discussion relating to the topic of gender/ transgender stuff

you can try reading the opinions of doctors on either side, they provide more nuance than activists.

Especially the mother-blaming argument that it's because of "grooming" by the parents. I've read clinical cases of conservative parents who feel helpless about their distressed toddler who wants to be the opposite sex.
