i'm starting to slightly suspect that maybe some of the hate i get is in fact due to being a woman. Most of it's probably due to being a sex worker, but the two are pretty intertwined.' This is a bit of an update for me, I haven't usually ascribed stuff to gender.

This isn't a strong thing, lots of people get hate for lots of reasons regardless of their gender or race or whatever, but it *does* kinda seem like i get disproportionate targeting for not doing the traditional gender role thing ppl think I should? Open to theories here

From brief skim of tweets/mentions, would suggest that it's due to you signalling role nonconformance — ordinarily it is seen as the proper thing to do is to conform to role, role conformance/performance tied to social acceptance. Roles have functional purpose so deviancy is bad.

About 30% of the hate you get seems to come from being “controversial” and the other 70% seems to come from the generalized male desire to control female sexuality, which I think underlies some misogyny but is not synonymous with it.

Not just a woman, but an attractive woman. Your looks draw people in like moths to a flame, and _then_ their jimmies are rustled when you aren't their ideal of an attractive woman. This happens for attractive women in all digital contexts that don't stick to that ideal.
