A common misconception about head lice is that they can jump. They can't, so spread of them comes about through direct contact. It's why children are more likely to have them, because they play in direct contact more often.

gah like 20 times as a child. something got missed every time my family tried to get rid of them. forgot to wash a pillowcase or something

My mom cried when I got them not because of the disgusting bugs living in her son's scalp but because she had to shave my head

I did and I prayed they would go away so I wouldn't have to tell my mom. It's the only prayer that came true. I'm not Christian anymore and I still kinda wonder what happened

there was a lice epidemic at my elementary school so my mom became the Lice Lady and got real good at giving kids lice treatments
