if you want to base this analogy on status as revealed by the market id say this is like me (host of popular free show "cooking with eigenrobot") being lectured by a Michelin chef https://twitter.com/PMDawnStan/status/1504861415311609876…
(fwiw I don't literally think sex work makes you an expert at all forms of intimacy, only that it feels a bit silly for people to count my profession as a negative for understanding intimacy)
An expert at all forms of intimacy? Do you really believe that?
I have nothing against the sex industry, but most forms of intimacy aren't dependent on financial transactions with strangers. This covers a small spectrum of what makes up 'intimiacy'
I think a fair assessment would be that sex work makes people very attuned to some aspects/forms of intimacy, although possibly also makes them much less attuned to other aspects (especially those related to attachment and long-term bonding).
I think the argument (for you having negative experience) is that sex work has several instances where the intimacy is taken out of sex, or cheating spouses break family bonds by seeking sex workers and the sex workers dont mind that as long as they get paid.
