I think that communism wouldn't be bad to drag a third world country back up on its feet into modernization. The problem would be relaxing the governmental authority when the country gets more advanced and people have universal standards of living above poverty.

People in third world countries have a more favorable view on communism, that's why they are third world countries.

Caveat: communism as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot et al. envisioned them: god no. But *democratic* socialism can work on at least state level. And communism can work on very small scales.

Make it clear what a first world country is! Don't underestimate people, I think my country is first. Depends on the way you look at it. Countries that do not colonization are first

I haven’t but my mum’s side of the family grew up and lived under Ceausescu in Romania. All of them have a strong disliking of communism.
