I doubt most post-rats were ever really 'rats.' Seems like being post-science, except if post-scientists were never actually scientists, just some ppl who thought science was cool, but eventually decided real scientists had too low emotional awareness and fashion sense to be fun

most people i know who i think actually deeply grokked and regularly practice rationality techniques, and *also* have emotional awareness and capacity for fun, seem just like really excellent rationalists to me, not post-rats

Yeah, the few post rats I've seen seem to be not into rationalists as a social group. Their rants are mostly targeted to groups and people and very rarely ideas.

I think it's about more than that. It's internalizing and employing alternative, non-rationalist frameworks, while still overall falling back on rationalism as a your dominant framework
