Maybe this is an age bias? Firstborn children tend to be older than non-firstborn children, and so more likely to have traveled alone.

I was intially thinking only Canada from the US, which barely counts. Then I remembered Denmark to the UK and Denmark to Italy.

Solo traveling is great, at least it is for men. In that women are more endangered alone
