very poetic, accurate description. i also love vegas, have visited a lot. My formative years got orgied into existence there, first real step into a bigger world, getting comfy with sex, first time drinking tequila. The gaudiness is infused with nostalgia and delight for me.

I liked Vegas, the two times I was there. I wouldn't want every city to be like it, or maybe any other place to be like it, but I'm glad there's a place like Vegas on Earth, and one can visit it knowing exactly what it is. It's Disneyland for adults.

Only reason I go to Vegas is for defcoin each year (covid years were virtual tho). But if the when we were young fest goes well...I would consider going to that next year.
