ok this is my tentative recommendation 1) wait until you get an idea which - inspires you - is relatively easy to implement a minimum viable product (not technically complex and doesn’t take too long)

Ideas: Start using python as an advanced calculator Have simpler (to implement) ideas (e.g. "I want to know what distribution of election results you get if you start at polls and add random noise")

Honestly I think the only way to reliably get rich as a programmer, is to get a job at a big tech company. The odds of making good money releasing your own products are not great. Mostly because the hard part isn't even programming, it's just the part that seems like it should be

You could always hire programmers. Most people, who are not full time professional developers, who learn some programming do it because it helps them with their work. The motivation is you can automate tasks saving you time, and all your colleagues think you are a genius.
