also dont wanna mislead here; to be clear, i *did* end up adopting frameworks that, if you tried to explain to "rational" me pre-psychedelics, i would have probably found very "woo". I currently think this is cause pre-psych me wouldn't have been able to understand the shift.

hearin lots of ppl talkin about how psychedelics can cause harm; this is true, you should be careful - start with small doses and work your way up! but psychs can also be great, i did a bunch 8 yrs ago and permanently stopped "suffering" - *without* losing contact with reality

I have a lots of internal changes that I can talk about through the belief lens, or use beliefs as handles for it, and to those most rationalists would be like "oh god i don't wanna try psychedelics if it did that to you." But I don't 'actually' think the beliefs are predictive?

as in; some 'woo'-style belief handles for these are stuff like "I am god" or "death is an illusion"; but I don't actually believe I have omniscience and I act in ways to try to avoid dying. It's just hard to explain exactly what I mean by that lens.

Kinda like believers (of faith) would say nonbelievers can't truly understand the difference? I still think psychedelics are external triggers for belief/religion "circuits". But I guess in theory, religion could also be a newer use for psychedelic effect circuits?
