Has prior immunity or vaccination been the bigger factor in beating the flu? Once everyone has had repeat exposures, it’s hard to say. It also depends on what you mean by “beaten” when you’re talking about an endemic virus

Yea i feel like both sides are too focused on trying to be the only one being right to realize the answer is that vaccination alone or acquired immunity from infection alone isnt THAT impactful.

It is absolutely insane to think prior infection is even in the completion here. There have been like 50m cases and like 250m doses of vaccine given in the United States

I think the biggest game changer would be easily affordable and efficient COVID treatment, that'll allow to nudge lethality/side effects to acceptable levels, in line with other diseases
