I'm living alone in a new city, and for the first time I feel like I have real access to my own sense of personal risk around covid. Before, in group houses with social activities, I made decisions based on my cluster, on the norms of those around me. But now it's just me! 1/

it's weird and cool. my personal risk assessment now in the face of omicron is "until I get boostered, I'm gonna reduce my event attendance by 80% but still go to things that still seem real fun, and after boostered I'm gonna completely stop caring"

Good idea. I’m just getting over a “mild” bit of Covid (with only 2 shots) and it’s still not a ton of fun. 4 days not much energy, muscles aches and constant flipping between being too hot or too cold.

Austin has been amazing to live in during covid, outdoor patios are very prevalent all over the city, it's easy to meet up with friends and enjoy socializing. The indoor events are at your own risk level which can keep some from joining, so we just keep most meetups outdoors
