I unapologetically view people who literally believe the stars/planets can predict unrelated things on earth as uniquely bad at thinking (moreso than many other strange beliefs) But if you don't literally believe this, then astrology seems like it could be really cool. 1/

Don't really know why I'd spend time on a system that claims to predict future while not believing it does. Like I love sci-fi and fantasy and I treat as modern mythology, but astrology supposed to be a tool which is clearly not.

Imagine you have a hard choice, where you're not sure if you should e.g. move/quit job or not. Someone randomly shouts at you a profound order: YOU MUST BE STILL that can 'shake up' your relationship to your question; might trigger resentment or fear or agreement

i see it as sort of a randomly generated set of claims to help you evaluate against in novel ways that might not be present in your everyday life (you know the attitudes your friends have, they're reasonable and predictable)

Ya sure, then astrology probably isn't for you. It's also not for me; i don't like it very much. But I could see how ppl who don't enjoy meditation, could find astrology to be a quick punch in helping orient
