I find anti-trans ppl to use the wrong pronouns typically not cause of belief, but cause they want to demonstrate how upset they are; I view it similarly to intentionally using bad words around a very conservative family to demonstrate you're upset with religion

I do think it's possible to do so out of gentle principle, like "hey it just feels like a betrayal of myself to censor myself around you", and i'm much more sympathetic to this, but I don't trust the motivation of it if it doesn't come with a clearly compassionate tone
