Ppl who are real into astrology/conspiracies/woo beliefs *really* trigger me, but it's not because of the beliefs themselves, it's what it indicates about the person. To me, it implies a profound lack of curiosity in checking to see if their beliefs are true. 1/

Do many people still take astrology seriously? I thought its peak in popularity was in the 70s and it's been in steady decline ever since. In any case, I've considered its credibility about on par with fortune-telling machines but not as much fun.

It's a good response to their point, but woo woo folks just don't think like this. You're trying to poke holes into someone's logic and reason that mainly rely on intuitive feeling rather than intellect. Won't work, and just ends in frustration for both parties when arguing.

....naw, this seems like a myth based on my reading of history. Sometimes ppl claim that a certain culture is egalitarian but it's only egalitarian along a very narrow dimension, if you squint.
