You decided to call all of occult "woo". This is a large part of worldly population. You really didn't think it would rub someone the wrong way to be told that apparently they can't hold relationships or have critical thinking skills?

I am also a “light” practitioner of woo as I’ve wandered into a number of health treatments I thought were absolutely bonkers that I’ve seen positive results with. And I fucking hate it. I hate when woo works

in HPMOR, harry stumbles into the world of magic, and his reaction is "holy fucking shit, the implications of this", and he immediately is interested in running a ton of experiments to understand more about it
id hope thats the reaction to when woo works

cause if woo worked that would be the MOST INTERESTING THING, i would drop everything and immediately run every experiment i could think of

I'd test it! Lots of hypothesis here - something in you is subconsciously doing something differently when testing; there's some frame in you being deactivated around other people, or testing makes the 'energy' or whatever get shy
We can test all these

science is just a form of "whoah, i want to understand this phenomenon better, what does it do if i poke this area?"
if supernatural exists, we can still poke at it and learn things
What if it doesn't want to be poked at? If you were a higher being, would you really want ants that think that they can shut you in a box poking and prodding?
