“W/o peer-reviewed research its very hard to channel my curiosity.” Why? Why do you devalue you your subjective experience of yourself and life so much? Where did you learn that? How does it serve you?

i used to feel disgusted by gay people, i believed i felt the presence of god (the male, biblical god), my subjective experience was that of being a sinner. After I lost my faith I realized that most of my profound, 'real' subjective experiences had come from lies.

belief in these "subjective experiences" led to a framework which caused my mom to stay in an abusive relationship, made me feel shame for being a sexual person, made me feel less worthy because i was a woman. Letting subjective experiences guide beliefs can be very harmful.

and the only way i got out of that was by going "Hm, I wonder if the thing that feels true to me, isn't actually true" and paying close attention to evidence and the idea i might be wrong. Not auto trusting subjectivity is what saved me.

You've got it all backwards. Actually feeling your feelings without internalizing the gaze of patriarchy and your religious indoctrination is what allowed you to get free.
