I'm a structural engineer. One of my co-workers, a mechanical engineer who is smart and I respect, casually dropped a 9/11 trutherism comment one day. Not in the "they knew about it" way, but in the "it was a controlled demolition" way. I was speechless.

I pushed back for like 2 minutes before I just let it go. My Master's thesis was in the progressive collapse of high rise buildings. Whenever somebody starts talking about the suspicious way the buildings fell, I have to leave the room.

I don't believe 9/11 was an inside job, but I also consider 9/11 to be less "low hanging fruit" than something like astrology; it requires lots of concrete knowledge to evaluate, whereas astrology requires very little concrete knowledge to evaluate

Agree. “Inside job” also leaves a lot of latitude as there were so many moving parts in the lead up, execution, and wind down of the entire saga. A lot of room for bad actors to act bad.
