I get this, but I model every single person who has ever lived as having enormous blind spots *somewhere* I'm a skeptic, I question my own beliefs a lot and I'm 99% sure I'm entirely wrong about >=3 really huge things that'll make me feel v dumb if I ever figure them out

Ppl who are real into astrology/conspiracies/woo beliefs *really* trigger me, but it's not because of the beliefs themselves, it's what it indicates about the person. To me, it implies a profound lack of curiosity in checking to see if their beliefs are true. 1/

I absolutely agree there's blind spots; I'm sure I've got plenty! But in the context of our current civilization, woo is 'easy'; it's low hanging fruit, it requires extremely little curiosity to conclude 'oh this doesn't make sense.'

Hmm...I'm less confident that woo is 'easy' to reject compared to other blindspots, tho now I'm wondering about a ranking of 'rejection ease' and what things I would put where... I do think diff areas within "woo" are of diff ease & individual cultural context is a huge factor
