yep, but it started similarly, took awhile to catch on, and then took awhile to realize it wasn’t the best idea. A lot of people really don’t like learning from history, though.

Didn't it end mostly because the government wanted the sin tax revenue back? iirc all the health indicators, societal outcomes, etc pointed to prohibition being a huge success.
