Porn also great for some people, just like alcohol. It's contextual, it depends on where you are in life, what you use it for, who you use it with, etc. I'm down to have more education and warnings about the downsides of porn, sure! But banning is way too far.

As a recovering alcoholic with some years of sobriety, I often use this example to point out the fallacy of the arguments against “porn addiction”. I cannot manage alcohol in a responsible way, but that’s my problem. My issue with alcohol doesn’t call for everyone else to abstain

It is impossible to ban in the internet age anyway. It's all talk.
China strictly bans porn, but it is still massive there.
JAV is pirated like crazy there, and JAV actresses are semi - celebrities.

Some people talk about alcohol exactly like that.
Anything exciting has some terrible effects on a portion of people who lack the tools to self control.
That should never matter for everyone else imho, same as you don't regulate kitchen knives because someone kills with them
