(TLDR: hard work and talent matter but ~all successful people are also incredibly lucky and it doesn't seem entirely fair that they should be rewarded for their luck with literally several orders of magnitude more wealth compared to equally talented/hard working but unlucky ppl).

I mostly don't believe the luck thing. I believe it in individual instances, but ppl who have talent and work hard optimize their luck exposure, in a way; as in most of where I've gotten to is due to luck, but also due to me opening myself up to lucky opportunities

Watch the video. This isn't just some hunch, there's some real reasoning behind this. Even if luck is a small factor, mathematically that still implies that ~all successful people are also very lucky. It's perhaps unintuitive, but it's true.

Even Taylor Swift, who is absolutely one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the 21st century (maybe ever), is incredibly lucky to be in the position she's in- she came from a wealthy family and had the luxury to pursue her artistic career. What if she had been born in (1/2)
