i tweetd about how ppl who've launched themselves up a tier in wealth tend to have a bunch of better qualities (mentioning other factors are at play too!) and i dont think ive had my mentions so full of people acting like i said something totally different before

although i do unironically believe most ppl who launched themselves up a tier in wealth did so by helping a ton of people. I generally like capitalism and this is why - ppl get rich by providing value for others.
(Ofc artificial market constraints often fuck this up)

Define wealth tier kek. Like 6 figs to 7? 7 to 8? 8 to 9? Which tier jump stands out most to you? Any patterns?

You may find this interesting: youtube.com/watch?v=3LopI4
There's a big tendency (in the US at least) to assume that success is mostly hard work or talent when and discount how much luck plays a factor. That also leads to bad conclusions about unfortunate people.

Probably bad phrasing. You started out talking about people who get rich and then refined that to people who went up a tier in wealth, which is a completely different set of people (including some poor people who nevertheless got richer).
I completely missed the 2nd definition.

You asked people to consider if the wealthy are just better than them. Why back-pedal like this?
