Someone submitted an article of mine that's doing well on hacker news, but I don't see it on the front page? This has happened before; I'm confused about how this works, what's going on?

If comment to upvote ratio gets too high it gets deranked. Eg now 200 comments for 100 upvotes. It's called the HN controversy derank thingy to avoid flamewars
