Twice recently I engaged on other people's feeds to disagree with them (one about vaccines, the other about woke stuff), and I got pinged for a while with people dropping really cruel insults on the people I was disagreeing with. This is *not* cool; don't be part of a pileon

Insults don't change minds, they just signal to others and make you feel better about yourself. Even if it's a mild jab, even if you seriously disagree, keep in mind higher-profile people at the center of controversy are probly getting lots of abuse and you should chill

you might not mind the thought of a mild jab, but a thousand mild jabs suck really bad; if someone is in the middle of a hot debate or if they're high profile, they are getting a thousand mild jabs that you can't see

yeah i meant the act of making them advantage of being a small account: you can mild jab without getting a ton of hate advantage of being a big account: you can mild jab and ratio every rando that comes to mild jab you (you have to deal with a 1000 randos tho)
