Twice recently I engaged on other people's feeds to disagree with them (one about vaccines, the other about woke stuff), and I got pinged for a while with people dropping really cruel insults on the people I was disagreeing with. This is *not* cool; don't be part of a pileon

Insults don't change minds, they just signal to others and make you feel better about yourself. Even if it's a mild jab, even if you seriously disagree, keep in mind higher-profile people at the center of controversy are probly getting lots of abuse and you should chill

One of my hates is the tweet that asserts someone is wrong and a bad person without giving a reason. e.g. a GIF of someone rolling their eyes. I wish Twitter had a setting that let me not see these.

I never bother arguing with people online. As Dale Carnegie said in his classic text 'How to win friends and influence people':
"You can't win an argument"

I'm woke to cringe levels, but I agree 100%. I don't think sadism is any less sadism merely because you believe your politics are morally superior.
