My date-me experiment round has drawn to a bittersweet close. I feel pretty pessimistic about the idea of finding someone to date who I'm excited about. Any suggestions on how to increase the chances of meeting people I'd romantically like?

My selection criteria was *awesome*, actually; it selected a really amazing dude and we were *so close* to being right for each other. This is already leagues above what i've been encountering elsewhere.

Well that's good. I was just thinking it might be difficult to volitionally select for the vital components that make something like romance work. If that's so, though, try the next few people? You can increase efficiency by doing a few at a time.

You wrote that you contacted the top three, two of them responded, and you gave it a shot with one of them, right? Well, what about #4? #5? #12? Even if your selection criteria are great there’s a good chance they can’t reliably rank people in the top 0.1% or even 1%.

More serious answer: I opened the survey out of curiosity. When I saw that the very first question was asking me how much I earned, I proceeded to close the survey.

If you were *that* close then it might be worth trying to sort it out with that guy. I have never seen a relationship without a flaw.
